Noorpreet Kaur, BDS, MPH, FACD, inducted as a fellow of the American College of Dentists

At the end of last year, , was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD) in recognition of her exemplary leadership, service and contributions to the dental profession. 

She was formally welcomed into the College during the 2025 American College of Dentists (ACD) Induction and Annual Meeting Convocation in Washington, D.C., joining more than 300 dentists from around the world who were honored for their exceptional leadership, ethical professionalism and sustained impact. 

This fellowship recognizes dentists whose work extends beyond individual achievement to elevate the profession through ethical practice, educational excellence, interprofessional collaboration and community engagement.

The ACD is widely recognized as a standard-bearer for ethical leadership, professionalism and service in dentistry. Founded in 1920, the College advances excellence in oral health care by cultivating principled leaders whose contributions extend beyond clinical practice to education, scholarship, organized dentistry and service to society. Fellowship in the ACD honors individuals who exemplify the highest ideals of the profession through sustained leadership, integrity and impact. 

With a select membership of approximately 7,000 Fellows worldwide, the ACD represents a distinguished community committed to advancing ethics, professionalism and the public good in oral health care.

鈥淲hat drives my work is the opportunity to teach and learn alongside students and residents, especially in special care dentistry and ethics, where compassion, critical thinking, and professionalism truly come together,鈥 Kaur said.

She added that she is deeply honored to receive the fellowship from mentors whose leadership and values have shaped her own. 鈥淲orking at UT San Antonio allows me to help prepare not just skilled clinicians, but thoughtful, ethical leaders for the future of dentistry.鈥

Kaur鈥檚 induction reflects her nationally recognized leadership in special care dentistry and dental education, including the development and direction of comprehensive didactic, clinical and experiential curricula that prepare future dentists to deliver ethical, patient-centered care to individuals with complex health needs. 

Kaur is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, Vice President of the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities (ADPD), an Executive Board member for the Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA) and a Nobel Biocare Implant and Esthetic Dentistry Fellow.

Her work spans curriculum design, faculty leadership, federally funded program development and scholarly innovation, with a particular emphasis on integrating ethics, interprofessional education and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and immersive simulation, into dental training. 

Through sustained mentorship of dental students, residents and interprofessional learners, Kaur has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of clinicians to lead with clinical rigor, ethical judgment and professional integrity. 

This achievement stands as a testament to Kaur鈥檚 sustained leadership and vision, highlighting her role in shaping the ethical compass, educational excellence and future trajectory of dentistry.
