Mitchell Moczygemba named associate director for finance and administration, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Mitchell Moczygemba, MS, joined the School of Dentistry at UT San Antonio as associate director, finance and administration, and department administrator for the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS) last month.

Moczygemba has extensive experience in healthcare administration, strategic planning and operational leadership within large, nonprofit health systems. Most recently, he served in progressive leadership roles at UCHealth in Colorado, where he supported complex clinical service lines through financial management, performance analytics, budget oversight and cross-functional collaboration.

His professional background included oversight of multimillion-dollar budgets, strengthening operational infrastructure and supporting program growth across inpatient, outpatient and procedural services. In these roles, he worked closely with clinical and administrative teams to enhance operational efficiency and align financial strategies with organizational goals.

He holds a Master of Science in Health Systems Management from Rush University and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. His combined experience in healthcare operations and mission-driven environments supports the continued growth and success of the OMS department and the School of Dentistry.
